Cary Fukunaga who was set to direct the remake of "IT" walked out on the project over negotions with the studio went sour. The studio disagreed with Fukunaga's vision in which the film would be split into two films this pissed off Fukunaga so he walked. The movie was due to film in less than three weeks and was going to star Will Poulter (We're The Millers,Mazerunner) as Pennywise The Clown. Even the famous author of the book 'IT' Stephen King took to twitter to confirm the canceling of the widely antcipated remake by say the following "The remake of IT may be dead--or undead--but we'll always have Tim Curry. He's still floating down in the sewers of Derry." As of now there are no plans to find a new director so it seems like this one was over before it started :(
