Illumination Entertainment Reveals First Poster For The Grinch

Illumination Entertainment the studio behind smash hits such as Despicable Me and The Minions has released the first official poster for their upcoming animated Grinch film. The film simply titled "The Grinch" will star Benedict Cumberbatch who will voice the film titular character The Grinch. The Grinch is being directed by Peter Candeland and Yarrow Cheney direct, with Matthew O’Callaghan also credited as co-director. According to the films poster the film will see a young more hopeful Grinch before he infamously stole all of Whoville's presents on Christmas Eve night.

The films poster brings up the question of whether or not we can expect a full on Grinch origin story. It also brings up the highly likely possibility that we can expect to see sequels where we will see The Grinch slowly turn into the green meanie we know today. Whatever the case may be it's clear we will get to see the fully formed Grinch seeing as the tagline for the film is "He gets meaner".

The original Christmas grump will return to theaters on November 9th 2018.
