Top Gun 2

So Val Kilmer pretty much stirred up a bunch of interest today when he took to Facebook to say that he was being casted in Top Gun 2 (The sequel no one really asked for and could honestly live without). Top Gun 2 which currently has no release date is being written by Justin Marks. Who wrote such gems as Street Fighter: Legend Of Chun Li but he has also wrote the upcoming Jungle Book movie which looks pretty good so will have to wait and see. The other part that bugs me is that Kilmer didnt even read the script so he doesnt even know if its good or not or what his character will even be doing. From what it sounds like he may be the only original character invovled with this movie. His Facebook post stated the following " I just got offered ‪#‎topgun2‬ - not often you get to say "yes" without reading the script..."It's starring Gene Hackman...""Yes" "The director is Francis Coppola..." "Yes!" They aren't involved in this production.These are examples of what an actor says yes to- like Jerry Bruckheimer and Tom Cruise!!! "Yes." We will all miss Tony Scott one of the kindest gentlemen I've ever met in the film biz, but let's fire up some fighter jets again!!! This is a long way off so calm down. This has been talked about for a long long time and being offered a role is very different from doing a role. I jumped the gun with my post. I jumped the topgun... An innocent mistake.
