It looks like the lovable blue hedgehog may be able to redeem himself with the announcement of Sonic Mania! This game is taking a very different approach then most games to create a unique game experience. As stated in the trailer the game will feature updated versions of classic sonic levels as well as brand new sonic content.
Sonic Mania well of course feature Sonic as well as Tails and fan favorite Knuckles,Sonic Mania will speed onto the following on consoles on August 15th 2017 Nintendo Switch,Xbox One,PS4 and it will also be available for those of you apart of the master race PC.
As far as pricing goes the game will be affordable according to polygon.com digital Pre-order copies are available for 19.99$ but are only on The Xbox game store and Steam :( . However there will be a collectors edition for 69.99$ and a physical version of the game available upon release.
