Lucy Liu is Directing The Premiere Episode Of Luke Cage Season 2

Lucy Liu is set to direct the first episode of Luke Cage season2! Liu was spotted on the set of Luke Cage earlier this year which led fans to speculate that she would be portraying a new character. However Marvel and Netflix confirmed that Liu would be directing the first episode of the season in an interview with "BuzzFeed News". Executive producer Jeph Loeb said the following "When you’re dealing with a bulletproof man, it helps if you have a bulletproof director. Lucy brings a keen eye, a superb sense of story, and an obvious love of actors. She is rocking Luke Cage 2."

In the same interview Lucy Liu expressed how excited she was to work with Marvel she said the following "What a thrill to collaborate with Marvel and Netflix, two industry titans, who paint our world with inspiring stories and beguiling characters."

This isn't the first time Lucy Liu has sat in the directors chairs Liu actually has a pretty good track record as a director. She has directed an episode of Graceland, and four episodes of Elementary. As well as a short film about sex trafficking in India titled Meena. If Lucy Liu's episode is well received there may be a chance that we will see her direct future episodes of Luke Cage or possibly direct other Marvel/Netflix show. Personally we think it would be amazing to see her direct an episode of Daredevil or Jessica Jones.
