Last night Deadline.com reported that Warner Bros. is planning on making an origin film for The Joker. The film will take place in the 80's and feature an all new actor as the Joker. The untitled Joker film will also not be a part of the DCEU (DC Cinematic Extended Universe) . Scheduled to direct the Joker origin film is hangover director Todd Phillips also producing the film is Hollywood legend Martin Scorsese. It was also revealed that the upcoming Joker origin film is the first of many films Warner Bros plans to make featuring DC characters that are not connected to its current DCEU. This news is a bit confusing seeing as literally the moment after this announcement was made it was officially announced that Jared Leto's version of The Joker will be featured in the upcoming Suicide Squad 2 and in Gotham Sirens.

If Warner Bros. is trying to confuse there audience then I have to say mission accomplished because we have no idea what the fuck is going on with The DCEU. Judging from this news neither does Warner Bros. The idea of having two separate cinematic universes for one property just seems like a bad idea not to mention DC also has the arrow-verse up its sleeve (if things weren't already confusing enough). I guess will have to wait and see how all this mess turns out for the DCEU. Until then stay tuned to Otherworldly News for all your confusing comic book news.
