The question “Why Don’t People Go To The Movies Anymore?” is what filmmakers and movie theater chains are asking themselves. To be quite honest the answer isn’t all that simple. In our humble opinion we feel there is multiple reasons.People aren’t going to movie theaters like they used to. For example there is a big group of people who just see going to the theater as one big choir. Why drive x amount of miles when you could just sit at home and binge watch a film on Netflix or Hulu or whatever streaming service you prefer?

On the other hand there is a group of people who get their movie viewing experience ruined by other moviegoers and just decide to not go back to the movies all together. Another big problem people are having is that they just aren’t that interested in the content being produced by Hollywood. Whatever the case may be that’s stopping certain people from going out and seeing the latest Hollywood blockbuster. Filmmakers and big theater chains are now noticing this trend and are somewhat trying to make changes to bring back audiences. Again in our humble opinion.

The filmmakers and Theater chains are not 100% to be blamed for the declining number of people heading to movie theaters. We for one think part of the problem is us the moviegoer! Before you angrily comment online let us explain why we think we are part of the problem. How many times have you gone to a movie and seen someone texting or talking on their phone during the film? Or how about this classic… A group of teens who can not sit down and just enjoy the film but are instead running up and down the theater while the film is playing. Or that one audience member that feels it necessary to provide audio commentary during specific scenes in the movie.

Now ask yourself would you want to go to a theater filled with people like that? Hopefully you answered no!

The point we are trying to make here is that going to the movies is going to continue to be a choir and less fun. If we don’t exercise some common decency while at the movie theater. That simply means don’t be a dick put your phone on silent and set it down for an hour or two. Keep your comments to yourself and just enjoy the show and teens just sit the hell down for fucks sake. What’s so hard about that?

Thank you

Sincerely
