Creators of the horror film franchise "The Purge" Gerard McMurray and James DeMonaco. Have announced they are working on a prequel to The Purge tilted The Purge: Island. The film will of course take place before the first film in the series.
Purge: Island will explore the very first experimental "purge" which takes place on Staten Island. The film will also explore how "The New Founding Fathers" came to power and how "The Purge" psychologically effects those who participate in it. Purge: Island will star newcomers Y’lan Noel and Lex Scott Davis. It is currently unknown at this time if any of the other characters featured in the previous Purge films will be involved in the upcoming prequel.
Purge: Island will hit theaters on July 4th 2018.
